I love to use nature as my inspiration for all my pieces but creations like these are truly special as they use the actual plant themselves.  This pair of earrings were lovingly created by me in the workshop by coating dreid honesty (or lunaria) seed heads with layers of silver clay.  

Once the pieces are thick enough they are fired in my kiln.  During this process the seed head burns away and leaving behind its imprint, cast in solid silver.  

I thave ried to get two seed heads that were as close in size as possible but with a natural product it is simply impossible to get them to be identical!

They hang from sterling silver ear wires and are presented in a gift box.
