A stunning handmade silver leaf pendant or necklace made using a real leaf collected on a local walk.  

  • Approximate length of leaf 3 cm
  • Hanging on a sterling silver snake chain (45cm)

The process: This leaf have was collected on a walk to Blackwood Common and the disused quarry up there.  There is now a Millenium Garden, which we refer to as the Secret Garden due to its hidden location.  This leaf was found growing on one of the litle saplings that I think have self seeded there. Once home I coat the leaf with the first layer of silver clay.  Then over a process of several weeks I added layers - up to about 9 in total.  The delicate clay leaf then went into my kiln, where once reaching about 700 degrees the actual leaf burns away, leaving behind the imprint in solid silver.
