I am supporting this charity because Mum was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2019. We hadn't heard much about it then but it is type of blood cancer which cannot currently be cured.   There are however various treatment options available to reduce the symptoms and to put the myeloma in remission. Like any cancer the success of these depends on early diagnosis and it took a long while for Mum's GP to find what the issue was, so clearly more awareness is needed by medical professionals too.

I'm happy to report that intensive chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant early in 2020 means thankfully Mum has been much better and some days has more energy than me! We are grateful to the NHS and all the amazing staff for her treatment.

As a family we continue to find Myeloma UK a great support. In fact, after Mum's initial consultation with the oncologist, we were advised to only read online information from the Myeloma UK website. Their resources helped us make sense of  what Mum was dealing with and how we could help her, it also helped Mum feel less alone as others could relate to her symptoms and give advice.  To say thank you all the money raised from selling these bead earrings will be sent directly to the charity.
